Bob Moog
Bob Moog was a winner of dozens of awards, including the Polar Music prize, and two Grammy's.

But he would never tell you that.

Renowned for his humility, Bob could never understand why people who didn’t know him personally would want to stop and talk to him.  As much as he loved his work and was a pioneer of electronic music and the world’s best known designer of synthesizers, he did not define himself by his work or the fame that came with it.

Bob Moog had a deep reverence for nature and drew much of his strength from taking refuge in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  He also built his own house, loved to cook, bake bread, and dig in his large garden.

Whatever he did brought a careful, aesthetic eye to the task.  He was a perfectionist, not because he was driven by the opinion of the outside world, but because he cared deeply what the world inside him thought.  He was always looking for integration between beauty and function. Musicians who play his instruments swear that he found it.
